Tomas Velez Obituary (1930

East Longmeadow- Tomas Velez, 83, of Springfield, passed away peacefully on Aug. 21. Tomas came to the States from Arecibo, PR as a migrant farm worker in 1951 and brought his family in 1962. He worked for and retired from HASBRO. He enjoyed washing his car daily and spending time with his loving wife during his retirement years. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 62 years, Brunilda; his sons, Tomas, Sigfredo and his wife Lily, and Jose; his two daughters Carmen and her husband Juan Lugo, and Rosaida and her husband Anibal Maysonet, 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and many friends. The Funeral Services will be on Monday, August 26, from 8:30 - 9:30 a.m. at North End Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 130 Carew St., followed by a Mass at 10 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church. The Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. The Calling Hours will be held on Sunday, August 25, from 6 - 8 p.m. at 130 Carew St.
