Shawn Allen Ragland 26, ascended this life on May 7, 2017. A Springfield native, Shawn was born on February 2, 1991. He attended Springfield and West Springfield Public Schools and Nashua Community College located in New Hampshire.
Shawn was a peace maker, loving family/friend and a man of many talents. He loved his family and we all loved him. He was a philosopher, a musical genius, a self-taught guitarist and pianist. From a young age, he had a God given natural ability to ignite love and give of himself unconditionally. Shawn was an all-around athlete who loved sports. He was very competitive especially against his older brothers weather he won or lost he played with passion.
Shawn was a man of men. He never gave up, he was a born warrior living life to the fullest. He taught and influenced everyone around him to be great. When Shawn smiled, he could melt the hardest heart and make you laugh. Oftentimes he would share of his most inner thoughts and leave you with a profound way of looking at things in a brighter light. He enjoyed spending quality time with his nieces and nephews, and they knew how to call on uncle Shawn and he would always say YES. Shawn loved the Lord and the love of God showed in how he learned to treat others. He was always searching to know more. He read the entire Bible in 3 days, Shawn always looked for the bigger picture in everything. Shawn was a true connoisseur!
