Raychelle Marie Ortiz Obituary (1990

Springfield- Raychelle M. Ortiz, 21, passed away on Sun., June 10, at Baystate Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. Raychelle was born in Springfield to Raymond Ortiz and Luz Figueroa on July 17. She enjoyed playing with all her game systems, going to the movies, family events and many more. She leaves behind many family members and her parents. Her parents lived for her and only her. They made sure their only baby had everything she wanted, no matter what they had to lose to get it. Raychelle had a challenged life. She had been in and out of the hospital since age 4. At age 9 she was granted a last wish, because she wasn't going to make it another year. She made it that year and many more. She had to deal with a very important loss in her life, her grandmother, Carmen Rodiguez, whom passed away on Oct. 26, 2005. From that moment she was determined to graduate from High School regardless of her health problems that made it very hard but not impossible. Raychelle was in the newspaper for being such a great example for those kids that think they can't make it. She showed them if you believe in yourself you can do anything. That was my flaca. The Funeral will be on Thursday, June 14, from 10 - 11 a.m. at Puerta Del Cielo(r) Funeral Home, 730 State St., Springfield, followed by Burial in Oak Grove Cemetery.
