Rafael Diaz

Rafael Diaz Santos, born on April 26, 1937, in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico, passed away on November 15, 2024, at the age of 87. He resided in Springfield, Massachusetts, for most of his life, living a life rich with love for his family, community, and island. Rafael was a dedicated bus driver, serving the community through his employment at Tobacco Farms. His commitment to his work was a testament to his strength, tenacity, and love for his community.

Rafael was a man of many passions. He loved fishing, watching wrestling, and loved the Boston Red Sox. A keen player of dominoes, and an integral part of his domino team. Above all, Rafael loved his family and his island.

Rafael was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Cruz Maria Diaz, his parents; Santiago Diaz and Delfina Santos, and his son, Carlos Diaz Flores.

Rafael is survived by his children; Ana Diaz Arce, María Díaz Flores, Rafael Díaz Flores and Santiago Díaz Flores. His legacy is carried on by his four children, seventeen grandchildren, and many great grandchildren.

Rafael's viewing will be held at Puerta Del Cielo® Funeral Home, 730 State Street, Springfield, Massachusetts, 01109, on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by his burial at Oak Grove Cemetery of Springfield Inc., 426 Bay Street, Springfield, MA.
