Moises Tomas Ramos Rivera, an empathetic soul and a generous heart, passed away on June 6, 2026. He was born on December 23, 1946, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, to the late Tomas Ramos Cruz and Juana Rivera Torres. He joins late sister Elizabeth Dones-Rolon and is survived by his brother Victor Manuel Ramos Rivera. Moises also known as "Mo", "Tomas" and "Junior" was a man of resilient faith, a compassionate friend, and a dedicated servant to his community.
From his early days in Quintana, Hato Rey, working alongside his father in auto body repair, to his service as Superintendent of Ornato and Beautification in Old San Juan, Moises was a force of positivity and inspiration. His devotion was not confined to his professional life; his faith led him to serve as a youth leader, choir member, and evangelist. In 1980, he wed his love, Milca Rojas, and together they brought their beautiful daughter, Surisadai Ramos Rojas, into the world.
After relocating to Springfield, Massachusetts, Moises continued his commitment service to his church and community. He worked for Gandara as a case worker and later for the Springfield Public Schools culinary services at Rebecca Johnson Elementary. He was a beacon of light and hope in his community, always ready to lend a helping hand and a listening ear. He is remembered as a dedicated worker, a loving husband to Milca Rojas Figueroa, a doting father to Suri, and a man who lived his faith every day. His life was a testament to his generosity and dedication, and his legacy will continue to inspire those who knew and loved him.
