Mayco Cotto Obituary (1972 - 2022) - Springfield, Massachusetts

Beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, Mayco Cotto, 48, of Springfield, MA, passed away on February 4, 2022, surrounded by loved ones in his home. Mayco was born on February 24 to Ana Cortez and Gerardo Cotto in Springfield, MA. After Mayco graduated from Central High school in 1994, he attended Baroco Day Program. Mayco participated in the Special Olympics. He attended countless sporting events all over the country with his older brother, Jaime Cotto, and even assisted his brother Jaime in coaching the Westfield State Football Team. Mayco growing up in the community, was well known for rolling through the streets of Plainfield on his big wheel. Mayco enjoyed the simple things in life; watching Dream Girls and Grease with his sister Maribell Cotto, showing his nieces the importance of being tidy, how to tear up the dance floor, his mother's cooking, and just "hanging with the guys." He is survived by his mother, Ana Cortez; older siblings, Jaime and Maribell Cotto; sister-in-law, Jennifer Hall-Cotto and brother-in-law Jesus Torres; nieces, Yajaira, Janessa, Nicole, Ana, Sarah, Arianna, and Ariel; grand-nieces, Layla, Gabrielle, Olivia, and Oaklynn; and grand-nephews, Josiah, Jadiel, Jose, and Jacoby. His father, Gerardo Cotto, and brother, Orlando Cotto, greeted him in his passing, and all three will continue to protect and watch over our family. All who knew Mayco were influenced positively by his joy, energy, laughter, and pure love of life. We all want to continue to honor his life by continuing his legacy of positive influence. We love you all!! Visitation hours will be on Sunday, February 13th, 2022, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, and Monday, February 14th, 2022, 9:00 am to 10:00 am, at Puerta Del Cielo Funeral Home, 730 State Street, Springfield, MA, followed by his burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, 426 Bay Street, Springfield, MA.
