It is with profound sorrow and a deep sense of loss that we announce the passing of a beloved matriarch, Maria Esther Marin, also known as Maria Esther DeJesus, on October 11th, 2026. Born on September 11th, 1955, in Cayey, Puerto Rico, Maria was an epitome of love, charisma, and compassion. Her magnetic personality drew people to her, and her humor lit up every room she entered. As Emily Dickinson once wrote, "Unable are the loved to die, for love is immortality." Maria's love, indeed, is her immortality.
Known affectionately as "Eti" and "Mama" to her grandchildren, and "Ma" by her son's friends, Maria was a homemaker by profession. She was a cornerstone of her family, dedicating her life to the safety and happiness of her spouse, children, and grandchildren. Her passion for cooking turned every meal into a feast, making her house a favorite gathering spot. Maria's big heart extended beyond her family, reaching out to the community as a helping hand whenever needed. Her charismatic nature and her compassionate spirit will forever echo in the hearts of those she touched.
Maria is survived by her husband, Enemias Andaluz, and her sons Antonio L. Marin, Ramon L. Marin, Juan M. Torres and daughter-in-law Betsy Diaz. She leaves behind a rich legacy in her grandchildren; Antonio L. Marin, Luis A. Marin, Christopher A. Marin, Michelle Morales, Denise Morales, Mayaeliz E. Marin, Noreiliz N. Marin, Amanda Torres, Juan Torres Jr., Juan Torres, Benjamin Torres, Esmeralda Marin, Niveliz Marin, Jason Marin, Edgardo Marin and Virginia E. Marin. She is preceded in death by her parents Guadalupe DeJesus and Paula Martinez.
Visitation hours will be held at Puerta Del Cielo Funeral Home, 730 State Street, Springfield, Massachusetts, on Wednesday, October 21, 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and Thursday, October 22, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM., followed by her burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, 426 Bay Street, Springfield, MA.

These remembrances will serve as a comfort to the family and a testament to Maria's vibrant life and her impact on those around her. As we remember Maria, let's honor her by embracing the traits she embodied: love, charisma, compassion, and humor.
