Luis Hernandez

With a heavy heart and profound sadness, I, Victoria Hernandez, announce the passing of my beloved husband, Luis Hernandez. He was a loving husband, a proud father, and a devoted son. Luis, born on June 19, 1960, in Springfield, MA, was a beacon of light to all who were fortunate to know him. A compassionate soul who made our world a warmer place, Luis passed away on October 28, 2023.

Luis was a wonderful blend of many things — smart, funny, and always full of life. He was a hard worker, and a diligent laborer who devoted many years to his job at the warehouse. It was in his nature to put others' needs before his own, a trait that endeared him to all. His father, Pedro, affectionately referred to him as "Alex" and would say "Alex, baja el volumen, Alex". But above all, Luis was a family man. He cherished spending time with his family, and his love for us was evident in everything he did. The joy he found in fishing, music, and watching TV paled in comparison to the happiness he derived from spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Luis is survived by his devoted wife, adoring mother, Natividad Hernandez, 5 siblings, 3 daughters, 8 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and loving family members. He was preceded in death by his dear father, Pedro Hernandez, and his cherished brother, Heriberto Hernandez.

The service will take place on Friday, November 3, 2023, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, at Puerta Del Cielo® Funeral Home, 730 State Street, Springfield, MA., followed by his burial at Gates of Heaven Cemetery, 421 Tinkham Road, Springfield, MA.
