Laura Fuentes Cruz

Laura Fuentes Cruz (Mita), born on December 23, 1940, in Naranjito, Puerto Rico, passed away on March 12, 2026, in Springfield, Massachusetts. Laura was a resilient and hardworking woman. She was a pillar of strength, known for her dedication and commitment to her work and her family. Her life was full of love, laughter, and a fierce determination to provide for her loved ones.

Laura is survived by her children, Sandra Colon and Noel Cruz. She also leaves Five Grandchildren: Sydney, Nicholas, Yasmine, Noel, Jr., and Yandel, Three Great-Grandchildren: Hendrix, Alyvia and Ashton and a host of family and friends.

Laura was the matriarch of the family, her wisdom and love were the guiding light for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband: Ines Cruz Rodriguez and her parents: Pascual Fuentes and Maximina Cruz. Laura’s memory will continue to live on through her family and everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.

A viewing in honor of Laura will be held at Puerta Del Cielo® Funeral Home, 730 State Street, Springfield, Massachusetts, 01109, on Friday, March 20, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Her interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery of Springfield Inc., 426 Bay Street, Springfield, MA. We invite all those who knew and loved Laura to join us in commemorating her life.
