Igdalecia Ribot Obituary (1961 - 2023) - Springfield, Massachusetts

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Igdalecia Ribot on August 23, 2023. Known affectionately by her nickname "Inda" or "Mama" by her cherished grandchildren, Igdalecia was the resilient heart of our family. Born on December 21, 1961, in the picturesque town of Fajardo, Puerto Rico, Igdalecia spent her life spreading love and warmth to everyone she met. Her spirit, vibrant and full of life, was a testament to her strength and courage. Igdalecia was an embodiment of selfless love and boundless courage. She was a thoughtful woman with an unwavering commitment to her family and a deep love for her pets, particularly her birds. Igdalecia's love of cooking and sewing brought joy and comfort to those around her. She enjoyed her favorite Novelas, and her devotion to Harrison Ford and the Indiana Jones movies was legendary. As Audrey Hepburn once said, "The best thing to hold onto in life is each other." Igdalecia lived this truth every day, valuing her relationships above all else. In her professional life, Igdalecia was a dedicated machine operator at Nypro. She lived in Clinton and Gardner, Massachusetts, for many years. However, her heart was always in Puerto Rico, her birthplace. Igdalecia's resilience shone through her career, overcoming challenges with grace and determination. She was as tenacious in her work as she was in her personal life, a quality that garnered the respect and admiration of her colleagues. Igdalecia is survived by her loving husband, Carlos Ribot, Jr., her daughters Gilda (Roberto) Fontanez and Glizelia (Toni) Rodriguez, and her grandchildren Lucas, Amaris, Ailani, and Giselle. She also leaves behind her siblings Rosa Rosario and Carlos Rosario. Igdalecia was preceded in death by her parents, Juan Rosario Vegerano and Isabel Rivera Feliciano, and her brother Julio Rosario. In the words of Maya Angelou, "I can be changed by what happens to me. But I refuse to be reduced by it.” Igdalecia embodied this spirit of resilience and courage. She was a beacon of light in our lives, her love shining brightly in all she did. We will remember her not only as a loving mother, grandmother, wife, and sister, but also as the heartbeat of our family.
