Hector Luis Reyes Andino Obituary (1948 - 2011)

Springfield- Hector Luis Reyes Andino, 62, passed away on March 23. Hector was born in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico on July 10th. Hector was an esteemed teacher of 35 years with numerous leadership and excellence awards in addition to various other accolades. He was a passionate community leader and spent much of his life working on the empowerment and justice of the Hispanic Community. He inspired many for change and gave hope for the future. His legacy lives on among the lives that he touched. He leaves to cherish his memory: his companion of 24 years, Gudelia Santiago; 2 daughters, Gail M. Walton and Karen L. Reyes; 4 sons, Hector L. Pedraza, Hector L. Reyes, Jr., Hector D. Reyes, and Kevin L. Reyes; 5 brothers, Angel David Reyes, Manuel Reyes, Miguel Angel Reyes, Antonio Ruiz and Domingo Rodriguez; 2 sisters, Manuela and Miriam Reyes ; 19 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He will truly be missed among his family, peers, community, and students. God bless you. We will always love you! The Funeral Services will be held on Wed., Mar. 30, from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. at North End Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 130 Carew St., followed by Burial at 1 p.m. at the MA Veterans' Memorial Cemetery in Agawam.
