Evelyn Garcia, age 66, of Springfield, Massachusetts, passed away on July 7, 2025, at Baystate Medical Center. Born on April 30, 1959, in Springfield, she was the beloved daughter of the late Bernando Garcia and Francisca Gomez, and a lifelong resident of the city she held dear.

Evelyn was employed for many years at Jericho as a mail handler, where her dedication, kindness, and warm spirit touched the lives of all who knew her. She was also an active and joyful participant in the Baroco program, where she built lasting friendships and was known for her fun-loving and compassionate nature.
Evelyn found happiness in life’s simple pleasures—listening to music, playing bingo, and trying her luck with scratch tickets. Her laughter, love, and vibrant presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her loving sisters: Victoria Hernandez, Annie Garcia and her husband Juan Torres, and Gloria Garcia; her brother Justo Gomez and his wife Kimberly Gomez; and her cherished uncle, Domingo Sanchez. Evelyn also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and cousins, all of whom brought endless joy to her life.

She was predeceased by her brothers Carmelo Garcia and his wife Beverly Garcia, Fernando Garcia, Carlos Gomez, and Jose Gomez.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, at Puerta Del Cielo® Funeral Home, 730 State Street, Springfield, MA 01109. The burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 421 Tinkham Road, Springfield, MA 01129.
