Cruz Franco, born on May 3, 1952, in Cidra, Puerto Rico, was a remarkable man whose funny and reliable nature made him an unforgettable character to all who were fortunate enough to know him. To his family, Cruz was more than just a husband, father, grandfather, and brother; he was a resilient rock and a beacon of unwavering dedication. His infectious laughter and quick-witted humor brought joy to every occasion, while his steadfast reliability provided a haven of trust and security in an ever-changing world. John F. Kennedy once said, "As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them." Cruz embodied this principle, living his life as an expression of his love and dedication to those he held dear.
Cruz spent his working years as an assembler for Columbia Bikes in Springfield, Massachusetts, where his dedication and hard work ethic were highly recognized. However, it was his personal life that truly defined him. Cruz was a devoted husband to his wife, Carmen Gonzalez Franco, and a beloved father to his children, Luis, Viana, Elizabeth, David, and Cruz Jr. His life was a testament to the love he had for his family, which was his most cherished accomplishment. His resilience was most apparent in his love for gardening, a hobby that saw him through the seasons of his life. This love of nature was a metaphor for his own life – a testament to growth, resilience, and the beauty of life's cycles.
Cruz was a man who left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew him. He is survived by his loving wife, Carmen; his children, Luis (Beatrice) Franco, Viana (Jonatan) Gutierrez, Elizabeth Rivera, David (Sinel) Franco, and Cruz Franco Jr; his siblings, Milagros, Maria, Tomas, Orlando, Jose, Lydia, Fernando Jr, and Carlos; his grandchildren, Edwin, Kiana, Genesis, Illyana, Jovani, Giani, Kaila, David Jr., Idalis, Kyara, and Adryan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fernando and Eduarda Franco.
