Carmen Luz Vazquez

–

Holyoke, Massachusetts

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Carmen Luz Vazquez, a beloved partner, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Carmen’s generosity, thoughtfulness, and infectious sense of humor left an unforgettable mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Born on December 20, 1956, in Cayey, Puerto Rico and raised and started her family in Springfield Massachusetts. Carmen then moved to Holyoke, Massachusetts, where she became an integral part of the community. Her warmth and kindness touched everyone she met, and her ability to bring joy and laughter into any room was a gift to those around her. Carmen was a woman who radiated love, and her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to cross her path.

Carmen was preceded in death by her parents, Juan and Concepcion Vazquez, her siblings Ludelia Vazquez, Angel Vazquez, Natividad Vazquez, and her grandmother Emilia Arguinzoni.

Carmen was a devoted partner to Pablo Ramos and a loving mother to her children, Damarie Goodman (Harold), David Class (Jennifer), Dorca Padilla (Josue). She was also a proud grandmother to her ten grandchildren: David, Kelsey, Gage, Dante, Jaden, Hector, Justin, Caleb, Ethan, Brooklyn, and her great-grandson, David. She also leaves to cherish her memories, her three brothers, Jose Vazquez, Ricardo Vazquez, and Jose Vazquez. Three sisters Elizabeth Vazquez, Maria Vazquez and Elizabeth Vazquez. Carmen’s family was her greatest joy, and her love for them knew no bounds.

While Carmen’s accomplishments were many, it is her love, generosity, and thoughtfulness that will be remembered most. Her legacy is one of compassion and warmth, and she leaves behind a family and community that will continue to honor her memory.

Carmen was a force to be reckoned with in her community. She had a deep love for her Hispanic roots and this passion led her to be an active participant in the Cayey Social Club. Carmen was also known for her competitive spirit, particularly at the domino table, where she became a multi-award-winning champion. Her energy was unmatched, and her contributions to her community will never be forgotten.

A viewing to celebrate Carmen’s life will be held on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, at Puerta Del Cielo® Funeral Home, 730 State Street, Springfield, MA., followed by her burial at Oak Grove Cemetery in Springfield, Inc., 426 Bay Street, Springfield, MA.

Rest in peace, Carmen. Your love, laughter, and spirit will remain with us always.
