Carlos Fernandez Rosado

Carlos Fernandez Rosado, born on April 23, 1956, in Cidra, Puerto Rico, passed away on April 25, 2024. Carlos was a longtime resident of Springfield, Massachusetts, having previously resided in the Bronx, New York. He was a supportive and loving husband, a generous father, and a funny companion whose laughter and love will be dearly missed. Carlos was a retired driver for the PVTA, a profession he thoroughly enjoyed. He was also a regular church attendee every Sunday, demonstrating his deep faith and commitment to his beliefs.

Known for his love of playing dominoes, listening to music, cooking, and watching NY sports, Carlos was a man of diverse interests. His infectious spirit and humor, coupled with his love for family, made him the heart of every family gathering. What mattered most to Carlos was his family, a fact reflected in the selfless love he had for them. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Aida Garcia, and a caring father to his children Carlos Fernandez (Julissa Fernandez), Edwin Fernandez (Vee Fernandez), Erica Bowen (Joe Bowen), Vanessa Fernandez (Aaron Bryant), Omar Cotto, Joel Cotto (Gloria Cotto), Angel Cotto, Hector Fernandez, and Milton Fernandez.

Carlos was a proud grandfather to Samara Mendez, Ava Bryant, Anaiya Fernandez, Jayden Fernandez, Drake Fernandez, Jay Cotto, Damian Hernandez, and Destiny Hernandez. He is survived by all of them, as well as his siblings, Rosa Resto (Papó Resto), Julia Rodriguez, Maritza Martinez, Tony Fernandez (Deborah Fernandez), Jose Fernandez, Edwin Fernandez (Yvette Fernandez), Rico Fernandez (Hayderle Figueroa), and Gregory Fernandez. Carlos was preceded in death by his parents Carlos Fernandez and Julia Fernandez, and his nephews Michael Rodriguez and Joe Fernandez.

The viewing for Carlos Fernandez Rosado will be held at Puerta Del Cielo Funeral Home, 730 State Street, Springfield, Massachusetts, 01109. The first viewing will be on Thursday, May 2, 2024, from 6:00 pm-8:00 pm, and the second one will be on Friday, May 3, 2024, from 1:00 pm-2:00 pm. His burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery of Springfield Inc., 426 Bay Street, Springfield, Massachusetts, 01109, on Friday, May 3, 2024, at 2:30 pm.
