Candido Abel Echeverry

Candido Abel Echeverry, a charismatic soul and beacon of positivity, passed away on June 9, 2024. Born in Pereira, Risaralda, Colombia on January 27, 1960, Candido's infectious humor and generous spirit left an indelible mark on everyone he met. He had a knack for making anyone feel special and cherished; a gift that truly reflected his loving nature. Candido, always the optimist, lived his life by the mantra, "I am okay 24/7/365," a testament to his unwavering positivity and resilience.

Candido's love for life was deeply intertwined with his passions. A skilled mechanic by trade, he found joy in the hum of a tuned engine and the satisfaction of a job well done. He had a deep love for dance, cooking, and fishing, hobbies that brought him immense joy and allowed him to share his vibrant spirit with others. His most cherished moments, however, were those spent surrounded by family, whom he loved unconditionally. In the words of Mother Teresa; "Let us always meet each other with a smile, for the smile is the beginning of love," Candido personified this quote through his actions every day.

Candido is survived by his loving mother Nubia, his children Amanda, Robinson, Carlos, Karina, and Christina, his brothers Henry, Humberto, and Jairo, his sisters Blanca Edilma, Luz Dora, and Maria Libia, his brother-in-law Nalkin, and sister-in-law Nancy. He leaves a legacy of love with his grandchildren Vanessa, Caleb, Thiago, Destiny, Oddessey, Elias, Amauri, Jayvien, Angel, and Imani. He was preceded in death by his father, Candido Echeverry.

A viewing for Candido Abel Echeverry will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, at Puerta Del Cielo® Funeral Home, located at 730 State Street, Springfield, Massachusetts, 01109. We invite all who knew and loved Candido to join in celebrating his life.
