Blanca Iris Oliveras, a woman of deep faith and boundless love, was born on April 19, 1944, in the picturesque town of Orocovis, Puerto Rico to her devoted parents, Julia Ayala and Juan Oliveras. Known to the world as Blanca Oliveras, but to her family, she was a loving mother, a cherished grandmother, a doting great-grandmother, and an unwavering woman of God whose impact will forever be engraved in their hearts. As Matthew 5:16 says, “In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” This scripture encapsulates the essence of Blanca’s life, as her actions consistently reflected her faith, illuminating the path for those around her to follow.
For more than 54 years, Blanca's life was a testament to her dedication and love for God. Her faith was not just a facet of her life but rather the very foundation that guided her actions. As a missionary, a chaplain, and a Sunday school teacher, she generously shared the word of God, encouraging others to find solace and strength in their faith. Her compassionate nature and her ability to touch lives extended well beyond church walls and into her community, where she was a beacon of hope and love. But perhaps her greatest ministry was her own family. A loving mother to Iris Cotto, Miriam Rodriguez, Cecilio Rodriguez, and a doting grandmother and great grandmother to over 10 grandchildren and great grandchildren, including Jacob Lugo and Wanda Correa. Blanca's love for her family was unconditional, her dedication unwavering, and her prayers for them constant.
Blanca was a woman whose presence made a significant difference in the lives of those she encountered. She was generous with her love, always ready to offer words of encouragement, and was a steadfast prayer warrior even in the face of adversity. Her faith was her strength, her family her heart, and God her life. As we say our earthly goodbyes, our hearts ache with the pain of her absence. Yet, even through our tears, we are profoundly grateful for the legacy Blanca has left behind. Her teachings, her faith, and her love will continue to inspire and guide us.
The viewing will take place on Thursday, September 24, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, at Puerta Del Cielo® Funeral Home, 730 State Street, Springfield, MA., followed by her burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, 426 Bay Street, Springfield, MA.
