I was born on September 27, 1977, in Fajardo, Puerto Rico, a place that shaped my heart and my love for family, nature, and togetherness. Of all the blessings life gave me, the greatest was the love of my life, my wife, Jenny Santos Sanchez—my Wumbi. Loving her was easy, natural, and unconditional. She was my strength, my peace, and my forever. Jenny, I need you to stay strong and keep going for me. My love for you has no end—I love you from infinity and beyond, like we always said.
Being a father was my proudest role. My children—Cookie, Nonyo, and JJ, my Yumbo—were my entire world. Everything I did was for you. Watching football games with my boys, JJ and Nonyo, filled my heart, and sharing basketball games with my daughter Cookie gave me some of my happiest moments. You were never just my kids—you were my purpose. I was also blessed to have an older daughter, Yuridiana. Though life didn’t allow me the time I wished for with her, I was grateful to meet her in my final moments and to know she carried a piece of my heart too.
I loved the simple joys of life: fishing, going on hikes, and grilling during the summer. Those moments meant everything to me. I ask that you keep those summer traditions going—keep the grill hot, the laughter loud, and the family close. When you do, know that I’m right there with you.
I showed my love in the little things, especially through the silly nicknames I gave to my closest family members. If you had one, it meant you held a very special place in my heart.
