Springfield, Massachusetts
We gather today to remember the life of Alfredo Aponte, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who was born on June 3, 1963, in Cidra, Puerto Rico, and passed away on January 17, 2024. Alfredo, a truly adventurous spirit, made his home in Springfield, Massachusetts, where he spent nine enriching years of his life. Firmly grounded in Christian faith, as a devoted member of the Iglesia Casa de Paz y Restauración, Alfredo lived his life as a testament to the scripture verse, "And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love" (1 Corinthians 13:13).
Alfredo was a beacon of compassion, known for his unique sense of humor that could light up any room. He found joy in his work at the hospital, where he carried out maintenance with dedication and an unwavering commitment to service. His awards in auto-body and mechanics exemplified his passion and skill. Outside of his professional life, Alfredo was an avid fisherman, a skillful gardener, and a dominoes enthusiast. His love for mechanics and auto-body work was not just a profession but a hobby that he cherished and often shared with his loved ones.
Alfredo is survived by his beloved wife, Maria Rosario, his children Carlos Rosario, Sonia Avila, and Jose Cortes, his step-grandson Carlos Rosario, and his siblings Juan, Rosa, Guiso, Francisco, and Margarita Aponte. He is preceded in death by his parents, Juan Aponte and Santiaga Torres. Alfredo's legacy of love, laughter, and compassion will continue to live on in the hearts of all those who were fortunate enough to know him.
We invite you to join us in celebrating Alfredo's remarkable life by sharing your treasured memories and photographs on his memorial page. As we remember Alfredo, let us cherish the love he shared, the laughter he brought, and the compassion he embodied.
