Alexis R. Diaz Obituary (1986

On September 1, 2019, heaven gained another angel. Alexis (Chino) Raymond Diaz, passed away peacefully at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA surrounded by his family and friends. Chino was born in Springfield, MA on June 23, 1986 and according to him, immediately dubbed the family favorite! His greatest accomplishments were his children, whom he loved immensely. They had a way of bringing him joy even on the darkest of days. They were and will continue to be the forever owners of his heart. Chino, loved his family and cared for them in both good times and in bad times. His philosophy was "Family Above All." He was blessed to be born into a big loving family, where one would think it would be impossible to make room for more in his heart. Yet, Chino still managed to open up his heart to his numerous friends who quickly became family. He truly was the epitome of the phrase, "a heart of gold", so much so, that one would think the phrase was created solely for him. It is this very same love that he had for his family and friends that will forever keep his memory alive in the hearts of all who knew him. Chino is survived by his mother Peggy Hernandez and his father Samuel Diaz. He will be missed by his children Ricardo Diaz, Leilany Diaz, Gionni Diaz and Gianna Diaz. He is also survived by his brothers Sammy Diaz, Joshua Diaz, and Izae Diaz, his sisters Jessica Diaz, Zenaida Diaz, Destiny Diaz and Yazmine Diaz and his grandparents, Marta Rivera and Jose Cuba. Chino leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, as well as several cousins and a countless number of friends. He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Emma Barreto. He had the best sense of humor and had the ability to find humor in just about any situation. His smile easily light up any room he entered. Knowing his mannerisms, he would have wanted those that loved him to remember the funny times, the memories created and the loved everyone shared. Let' honor him by celebrating his life and keeping his memory alive. He would want his family and friends to take on his role as the family comedian so that the laughter could live on. Just as Chino brought laughter into our lives, let's honor him by making sure we take the time make others laugh, just like he did while he was here on earth. Let's make sure to continue to create memories and be there for each other, just like Chino did for us. Everyone who remembers him is asked to celebrate Chino's life in a way they feel would capture his spirit and personality. Raising a glass to his favorite drink would be very appropriate! Here's to you, Chino! Your light will forever shine on in our hearts. The family will be holding a memorial service for Chino on Saturday, September 21, 2019 from 1pm until 3 pm at Puerta Del Cielo Funeral Home on 730 State Street in Springfield, where his family and friends can gather to celebrate his life.
