Alejandro Rivera, Jr.

Alejandro Rivera, Jr., born on July 3, 1958, in Springfield, MA., passed away on November 30, 2024. He lived a life filled with hard work, dedication, and love for his family. As C.S. Lewis said, “Hardships often prepare ordinary people for an extraordinary destiny.” Alejandro’s life was indeed extraordinary, marked by a strong work ethic and an unwavering commitment to his family and community.

Alejandro Rivera, Jr., was a dedicated Mechanic at Spartans Brake and Muffler Shop for many years, a Builder at Skips and eventually opened up his own Car Repair Shop, Jr's Autobody. Away from work, he was a loving family man. Alejandro is survived by his sisters: Eulalia Rivera, Darlene Cowlan, and Rose Cornine; his devoted daughter: Tanea Weissletter; and his cherished grandchildren: Roberto Alica, Elena Mejia, Omar Mejia, Carlos Samara, and Angel Rodriguez. He also leaves behind his last love: Alicia Marquez and his dedicated caretaker for over Nineteen years: Betty Jackson. He also leaves a host of family and friends.

Preceding him in death were his loving parents: Alejandro Rivera and Alice Kennett; his beloved wife: Karen Rivera; and his son: Johnny Rivera. As Friedrich Nietzsche once said, "To live is to suffer, to survive is to find some meaning in the suffering." Alejandro Rivera Jr., found meaning in his life through his work and the love he shared with his family.

The viewing for Alejandro Rivera, Jr., will take place on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, at Puerta Del Cielo® Funeral Home, 730 State Street, Springfield, MA., followed by his burial at Oak Grove Cemetery of Springfield Inc., 426 Bay Street, Springfield, MA.
